THE WORKSHOP

Our workshop is where imagination becomes reality.

Based in Ballarat, Regional Australia, it comprises 4,000sqm of state-of-the-art machinery across five departments – steel fabrication, timber joinery, scenic finishing, set electrics and automation – all under the one roof. Alongside the manufacturing facility we have 1,500sqm of storage climate controlled torage space, so our hire kits, props, and productions are looked after all year round.

Our versatile construction and assembly methods in timber, steel, aluminium and plastics allow seamless production for any size project. The skills and proximity of our experienced team mean we can (quite literally) put our heads together to approach a brief in the most efficient and effective manner.

This unique advantage provides not only cost and time efficiencies but project solutions that might not have otherwise been possible.

THE STUDIO

The heart of the business is a design and consulting studio. Specialising in Scenic Design and production integration the studio comprises innovative designers, drafters, project managers and engineers.  We design productions to move between theatres and adapt theatres to fit around productions. Using a process of creative and functional design we consider the materials and choices along the path to making the journey from concept to opening as fluid as possible.

The Covid-19 pandemic sparked a creative adaptation to the climate when theatre fell dark across the world.  Our own workshop was hit hard, but from the ashes, an idea rose and developed over the prevailing few weeks we started a new arm to our business.  The addition of a furniture shop to our humble home in Ballarat.  Not like a traditional furniture shop, this one operates a little differently. 

Built in the shadows of theatre sets like Frozen and Harry Potter this creative range of products is designed to function in our
everyday lives.

Over the collective 50 years that we have been building theatre productions we have learned a thing or two, and are deciding to build a “place to start” for theatrical producers, designers, directors. Through the implementation of an online set stock store we are changing the way productions are built and giving everyone a place to start.
