Real life A Bugs Life!
Melbourne Museums latest summer exhibition Antopia, explores what life is like within the hidden world of an ant colony. This immersive exhibition uses sensory lighting, interactive projections, digital animation and physical scenery to recreate and help understand their world.
Our contribution to the exhibit included 36 individual blades of grass, standing 7 meters tall, designed, fabricated, painted and assembled in our Ballarat workshop.
Due to the enormity of these structures adults and children alike feel like they've been shrunk down to the size of an ant and are encouraged to walk amongst the blades and marvel at their enormity.
Creating the foliage was no small feat and included 40 hours of CAD, 300 hours of scenic painting, 150 meters of fabric and 800m of aluminium.
FORM prides itself on creating experiences and events that educate, inspire and challenge previous methods of making and enjoying art and theatre.
