Salome's decaying set was a metaphor for what could happen if we don't preserve and respect our culture.

Despite the Palais Theatre's recent renovation, FORM was charged with the challenge of recreating the proscenium arch, balcony windows and ceiling dome of the St Kilda Theatre to look like the building was falling into ruin.
This decrepit setting set the tone for the opera's dramatic and brutal themes whilst also creating an emotional and hedonistic environment that the audience felt immersed in.
