This art installation was designed by The Lantern Company for Rising Melbourne.

The floating sculpture consisted of 500m of internally lit lanterns, reaching 6.5m tall in sections. Featuring 95 hanging lanterns, 16 scaled vertebrae sections, 1 very large head, 28 moons and 48 baby eels.

The head alone weighed 450kg!

It took 3 weeks on-site to install, one night to open and was loaded into 17 trucks the next day when another Melbourne lock-down cut the festival short.

The artwork touches on the ideas of connectivity, the night sky, and Indigenous history and lore.
